We’ll find a way to help you.
Amanda Bacchus, MSW, RSW, RP, RMFT-SQ
Amanda is a Registered Social Worker with an MSW degree, a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Registered Psychotherapist. Amanda is qualified to supervise qualifying and registered Social Workers, Psychotherapists, and Marriage and Family Therapists. She is the Director and Founder of the Vaughan Relationship Centre.
Amanda mainly uses Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) when working with couples, but she is an eclectic therapist and uses modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused, and occasionally Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT). She believes in working within her own scope of practice and, therefore, cannot provide supervision beyond these therapeutic techniques. Her work mainly revolves around couple, family, and individual therapy with a prime focus on systemic relationship dynamics.
In her journey of becoming a therapist, she spent many years attending supervision, beyond the required hours. Amanda continues supervision for her own growth and reflection. She believes that supervision is the best place to learn, discuss mistakes and struggles, and reflect.
Amanda is a seasoned therapist but doesn’t claim to know everything, so she will collaborate with you on what you think is best for your clients. While she believes there are times to be directive and provide suggestions or solutions, she also believes that you are the expert on your clients because you are the clinician in the room. Amanda will look to you for your input and process while providing you with my thoughts and impressions along the way. Her hope is that supervision is a safe place for your growth and learning.
